Justine is the founder member of Speech Therapy of Forsyth and continues to provide speech therapy services specializing in social language and communication.  Justine completed her graduate study at Hunter College of the City University of New York, graduating in 1972. She worked at Mount Sinai Medical Center for several years before moving to Atlanta. There she founded Atlanta’s first all-day, year-round therapeutic preschool in 1981 while advocating for early intervention services statewide. Speech Therapy of Forsyth was started in 2005 with the intention to pair Speech/Language Therapy with an intense respect for 1) the necessity of Parent Coaching, 2) a working knowledge of sensory integration disorders, and 3) modeling the rules of conversation for the children and parents. This mission continues to be realized in our clinic by the exceptional staff this mission has attracted.

Kari graduated from the University of Cincinnati, 2004, with her M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She has over 19 years of experience working as a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in a variety of school and healthcare settings.
Kari has spent the last 12 years practicing at Speech Therapy of Forsyth, where she has refined her parent coaching skills and earned the position of Clinical Director.  She is especially passionate about Play and Experience Based Therapy, Self Regulation, AAC, Social Thinking and Neurodiversity Affirming Practices. Her favorite part of her job is being able to work individually with her patients and their families to develop a customized and flexible plan of care.  She firmly believes that there is not a one size fits all therapy program, and strives to stay current with Evidence Based Practices.  As Clinical Director, Kari enjoys mentoring and learning from staff while promoting a growth mindset.
Kari is also the mother to two teenage boys, her oldest was diagnosed with Autism in 2010 at the age of 2 years old.  She is a fierce advocate for providing him with the support he needs, while also embracing and celebrating his differences.  Combining her personal and clinical experiences together, Kari is able to offer her families and patients a unique perspective.
